Moths, occasionally birds. Still a grumpy dad, still hoping to mellow with age

Great record Chris, I hope the Phycitodes is as equally interesting

That Calybites is a nice looking micro. Any tips on plant ID or an app? That’s my biggest issue with leaf mines, the foliage

Greedy! I was gonna trap tonight but the clouds have cleared and the temps are dropping so I’ll save myself the bother

Nice work Dan, I must give leafmines another go at some point.

Must be the bulbs……..😉

Not bad haul, Blair’s might be local as the numbers are ramping up in my trap

Lovely picture and a good find Andy. Not had one personally so send it my way when you finish

It looked a good night for mothing, I finally got a Merv, unfortunately it was on the away day trapping rather than home!

I go from 1/2 hour before dusk, there’s always a chance of some early moths

It’s the only flowering plant left that’s bright enough to hide it in. Everything else is now brown or there’s just a few red flowers going strong.
Mervs hate me this autumn. Fortunately I’ve overdosed on Scarce MdJs earlier this year, so it’s not all bad 😉

That’s a great photo, I knew you’d give in to the micros eventually 😉
wheatersdave.bsky.social
That’s even more impressive! You must be over the 300 all told?
wheatersdave.bsky.social
Even the moths hate Clive 😘😆🫣
wheatersdave.bsky.social
That’s a good one, especially to reach a milestone as well

55/30 in SE Hants. A nice spread of moths both small and large. NFY Feathered Thorn. Lates of Y. sequella, S. ocellana and E. flammealis. Migrants; 1 Rush Veneer, 1 RDP, 1 Diamond Back and 6 Blair’s Mocha, but the latter probably is local. Best of rest Pink-barred Sallow #teammoth #migrantmothukl

Best news was the dog, but the cappuccino was a nice bonus 😊
wheatersdave.bsky.social
Ta daa what a beauty! Can you ask it to remind the Hants ones that they need to put in an appearance?
wheatersdave.bsky.social
Good luck Ruth, you deserve some moth goodies and I hope all goes well with the dog 🤞🏻

I’ll keep you posted. Should have something in place in January
wheatersdave.bsky.social
I’ll put that in the mix, but it might have good coverage already. Let’s hope we can get things arranged for trapping next year.
