It really doesn’t. Writers are ignored enough as it is to the point people would rather talk to a bot than actually support legitimate fanfiction. Any generative AI is theft whether it’s stealing text, images, sounds, etc and we should be condemning all of it

Last thing. I don’t want to hear excuses about how you want a personalised experience. Reader/Character fics exist, many fanfics are deliberately vague so you can self insert.

Find a roleplay partner, write yourself, trade with someone, support a bloody human!

Here’s even more reasons why Character AI sucks.

• It’s shit and full of repetition/mistakes

• It steals actor’s voices without their consent. Literally the most violating thing I can think of.

• It does not give trigger warnings and has been known to send upsetting things.

WHY support this?

i would LITERALLY rather see people ship themselves with fictional characters than to make AI partners.

at least with a fictional character, a human being made the character with care and intent.

an AI partner is 0% human. you're dating something with no soul put into the process of its creation.

I will block anyone who shares screenshots of Character AI because it’s like, there’s thousands of free fanfics out there written by humans and you’d rather do that. Ok. 🤡

You can’t claim to be against AI art if you’re using chatbots to roleplay with your fave characters. I don’t know why some of you shun AI art generators but talking to an AI bot is fine apparently even though it’s stealing from writers

Writers’ livelihoods are incredibly threatened by generative AI
