Scariest to Ares will always be Yeth Hounds. I think even as a fully realized Archmage in his prime, his stomach would still sink if he was traveling at night and heard their baying, fearing being the prize of the hunt like he once was as a child, searching for their eyes in the dark.

His mother for sure, Ares' most tender pressure point. I don't think he ever fully overcomes it, but through time, the ache becomes more bearable and he gets better about not being as protective and sensitive of it.

Time to post one of my favorite old illustrations. :)
I created it for a group show resolving around botanical visuals. During this time I read a lot about the ISS and how they grew plants in there to test botanical behavior, which also sparked dreams about deep space travels.
