It's definitely something to lab out per character. You MIGHT be able to throw one out right before blitz otg super and get an extension from it. I noticed illaoi s1 will slam them into them as well and count towards combo but wasn't able to set one up to try and get an extension from it.

Mushroom can also bounce enemy on knockdown. Buddy was playing Darius, I could set mushroom behind him while comboing and his Super 1 would land the opponent onto the shroom bouncing the opponent up for more

Granted I've only really played him in duos, but when my partner has opp in the corner I set mushrooms up as a spacing trap to help keep corner, darts I used to keep partners strings safe or to help safely cover screen space when partner wants in or even keeping opponent from freely pushing forward
