Oak class explored Italian Renaissance art by painting on plaster, just like artists of the time. Focusing on sfumato, drawing with clear lines and blending colours, they created a beautiful collection of sun-themed designs ☀️🎨
Year 5 loved spending last week doing Bikeability. This experience helps children to not only learn to ride a bicycle, but also to gain independence, social skills and a sense of wellbeing! 🚲
Continuing our PKC topic 'All about me', Preschool learned about the
important people in our community who help us. We talked about the
people who help us in Wixams like the shopkeeper, the rubbish
collectors and the teachers.

Baobab Class had a great week exploring different art styles! They studied the work of Munch and Stubbs, comparing brushstroke techniques, and experimented with oil and soft pastels to create texture and style in their own artwork.
Maple Class had a fantastic start to Music this term, exploring chime bars, wak-a-tubes, and keyboards. They're off to a great start and can’t wait to learn more songs and make music together!
Elm Class had a brilliant first week settling back into routine. They loved their PE session with the new coaches, building teamwork, agility, and movement skills through circuits and hurdle jumping. Great start to the term. Well done, Elm!
Preschool had a wonderful week making new friends and diving into Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? They explored colours, created a collaborative artwork for the book corner, and experimented with lines using watercolours and pegs. Well done, Preschool!
Y1 had a lovely visitor come in to teach us about Material Madness that links to our last science topic all about Materials. The children loved seeing and feeling the items that he brought in and the demonstrations of how materials worked. They
had a great time!
Cherry class had a very exciting day with their Year 6 buddies at Herring Green Farm where they got to hold owls, care for the animals and watch an exciting bird of prey show!
Congratulations to our award winners last week, who were celebrated in our Praise Assembly and were selected by their class teacher for displaying the school values!
Last week, Willow Class visited the Planetarium to deepen their understanding of their science topic on Space. They loved exploring the stars and planets. Later in the week, during RE, they shared special artefacts and explained their personal significance.
In RE last week, Year 2 Maple class discussed artefacts and how these are objects which are important. They brought and  discussed objects they have at home which are special to them and why.
In Art last week, Olive class became sculptors. Following the style of Miro, they manipulated clay into several 3D shapes and molded them together to make an abstract sculpture.
As part of Pre-School's @pkckst.bsky.social topic 'Heroes and adventures' they had Little city in to help us explore different jobs that local heroes have. The children enjoyed dressing up and role playing jobs like the postman, fire fighter, builders, hair dressers and café worker.
Willow class started exploring Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare. They discussed the themes of love and comedy, as well as exploring the main characters. They used lollipop sticks to act out the first part of the story and the dilemmas of unrequited love.
Last week, to bring their our History learning to life, Year 5 visited the British Schools Museum. The children were able to experience a day in the life of a Victorian school child.
Pre School had a very exciting visit from @zoolabuk.bsky.social last week! They learnt about different animals and even got to see some, including a corn snake and a scorpion. The children were very brave, holding some of the animals and showed great respect to them.
A huge well done to Y6, who had a phenomenal time on their residential. It's been lovely to hear about the memories made. We are very proud of them! Also a huge thank you to our staff team for giving up their own time from their own families to ensure that this trip could happen!
Pre-school's new @pkckst.bsky.social topic on 'Heroes and Adventures' kicked off with the story of Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space. Children loved learning about astronauts and gravity. They blasted off on missions and created ‘moon rocks’. A fantastic start to our new topic!
Day 2 at Rock UK! 
We put our aim to the test with archery, pushed our limits in "Above and Beyond," took on the climbing wall again, and so much more. The energy and enthusiasm have been amazing — so proud of how everyone is challenging themselves and supporting each other!
