Come on out next Saturday (Friday is already sold out!) November 8th to Prince George's Publick Playhouse and hang with the Gold Soul Movement as we spread the music of Sly Stone to the good people of DC!
Come see the Gold Soul Movement on November 7th and 8th at the Publick Playhouse in Hyattsville! Always great to get together with these fabulous musicians and humans to play great music.
Congrats to the Oakton High School Cougar Marching Band for a great season! Always great to be rewarded with a Superior at VBODA State Assessment. These brass kids are always a blast to work with and make music. Go Band!

Last picture from yesterday, I promise. If you are so inclined, come join the DC Activist Street Band! Protest music has a long and important history in this country, and all are welcome! We were about 20 musicians strong yesterday, many more for support- the more the merrier!
Freedom of speech and freedom of the press are non-negotiable in this country.

To be blunt, when the military is deployed to American cities and the Pentagon revokes press badges to the vast majority of the press corps, it is time to protest, loudly and unequivocally.
A GREAT time playing the 20th Boston HONK! Festival this weekend! I'm anxious to finally be home, but every set I got to play was a blast. Thanks to the DC Activist Band, the Band Together Pickup Band, and the Greenbelt Honk Situation for having me. Bourbon Street never gets old!
Four rules for getting and keeping gigs:

1. Play in tune
2. Play in time
3. Be on time
4. Don't be a jerk

They're all important, but that last one really is the most important.

I very strongly feel it is my patriotic duty to speak out when our government is corrupt. Trump is a grifter. He truly does not care about politics- he can and will say anything or do anything to stay in power. Don't go silent out of fear, folks. Keep being loud.
The NOVA Loudoun Jazz Combo is hitting the ground running this semester with swing, funk, dixieland and brass band tunes! Come see their hard work at our Ensembles Concert alongside our Vocal Ensemble and Rock Band on Thursday, December 4th at 4pm in the Waddell Theater on the Loudoun Campus!

Just remember that whatever new nonsense the regime spouts off today is an intentional distraction. #refusefascism #resist🇺🇸

"Gosh! Whatever's in those Epstein files must be really, really bad!"
First day back in the building of my 14th year teaching- but plot twist- now it's higher education! Classes don't start for a couple weeks, but I've got plenty to do:

Jazz Ensemble, Music in Society, Jazz History, and Applied Low Brass Lessons!

Go Nighthawks!
The Washington Commanders Brass Quintet had a great time supporting the District Heights community at their annual Back to School Bash!

Always a blast with The Fuss! Last night was a great show alongside our new friends The Maka Sticks. Ska is alive and well, even if my mic wasn't. Thanks to Sonia Ekonomo and Jose A. Ekonomo for letting me steal your videos!
“Speak up, speak out, get in the way. Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America.”-civil rights leader Representative John Lewis

Why yes, that is Congressman Al Green.

Keep making good trouble, friends.
