I had a boss who used the expression constantly.

I'm tired of the way the word, 'shocking' is used in certain media. Everything is 'shocking' or will 'shock you'.

I am not shocked by the news that a celebrity has grown old, fat or lost their teeth.

War, cruelty and corruption are indeed much higher on the list.
