I’m hoping to see it Friday if it makes it out to the burbs which is not always a given unless Byrne is wearing a cape.
@criterion.bsky.social flash sale tomorrow so put what you want in the cart before you go to bed tonight.
#PhysicalMedia
I woke up early this morning and was going to watch HANNAH ARENDT (you know, something light) before I started my day.
I forgot how absolutely unwatchable dubbed films are.
So I stopped watching ... which I almost never do.

I think it's Matthau's best performance.
Not a warm & fuzzy moment in the entire film.
The boy is off to school having performed every task that required executive function without having to be reminded and he left the house looking like the coolest kid evah!
Not a big deal for most families but a small triumph for ours.

Sunday morning used to be for sleeping in but it appears that ship has sailed.
Now they’re for coffee and blind spots apparently.
#NowWatching
The house is quiet and the coffee’s been made so I’m taking a break from the Horror and watching one of my favourite cringe comedies.

Happy #Friday folks!
A long, LONG week has ended and I'm going to watch a bunch of movies, walk the dogs and enjoy the fall weather.
#Movies queued up for this weekend >>>>>>>
lol ... that's the only kind of sweater I own.
I DID sit up when he turned up.
Legendary.
His character in MATEWAN still haunts me.
I can't recommend it enough.
Also, WISE BLOOD is a nice late-period Huston that you might enjoy. I haven't seen it in years but I remember it left me off balance and I thought it was pretty inventive for a director in his 70's.
Thoughts on @criterion.bsky.social January releases:
THE DEAD - Absolutely
BIRTH - Ditto
KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN - Ditto Ditto
CAPTAIN BLOOD - Most likely
CAUGHT BY THE TIDES - Need to look into this one
DEAD MAN - I'll live with my BR
YI YI - As with DM
Scorsese World Cinema - Will have to wait
I'm REALLY looking forward to the new transfer of THE DEAD.
It's THE DEAD, KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN and BIRTH that have been all hot 'n bothered although your two are also going to make sure that I'm broke after the February flash sale.
At 0-2, I'm now preparing for a long winter.
I had to behave myself today.
I suspect the #CriterionCollection flash sale will happen next Tuesday and I have to save my pennies for that.
I listened to it this morning.
A fitting end to a wonderful run.
I woke up cranky and with a sore back so sure, I'll play:

1) Eggs
2) IDOCRACY
3) Any song from the yodeler / animal caught a steel trap stylings of Yoko Ono
SHOOT THE MOON is a devastating depiction of marital breakdown and is due for a rewatch.
Having been through a divorce, it nails the sense of feeling abandoned when your partner moves on ... even when you're the one who left.
When I think of her, it’s the look of contempt & disgust she gives Michael in the hotel room in GF2 as he tries to explain to her that they can have another child not knowing that she didn’t “lose” the baby.
One of the greatest 8 seconds of acting ever and she doesn’t utter a word.
Tonight I’m sad.
