Friends don't let friends inflate numbers for the sake of having bigger numbers. It's a particular vice of video games (which don't require humans to do the math) but a tabletop example that comes to mind is Yu-Gi-Oh, in which every stat is multiplied by a 1000 just to look cool. Meaningless!

this table is so hilarious. the higher your level the more exp you need to level up, but also the exact same activities will give you more exp. making the number bigger for the sake of being bigger
