hello everyone welcome to my page

Most of these have been repainted since but holy cow did 4144 take the cake with at least 3 different shades!

I'm not sure why pregrouping modellers struggle with liveries; no-one struggles with something as clearly established as GWR or BR green

Thank you! It's the chassis of an early slip eccentric Lady Anne, with the boiler of a 89-95 one and custom bodywork.

There's a plate on the back that says "Fareham Loco Works" but it's a complete mystery who that is or who 'built' it
wrduckdog.bsky.social
If you look under the footplate, near the cab you might find a serial code - if so, Roundhouse would be able to tell you when it was built and by who! But i suspect they weren't doing this when yours was built

My Jupiter is a bit of a mongrel but I suspect it has the same boiler as yours
wrduckdog.bsky.social
Not precisely but i'd place it between 1989 and 1995.

Yours has the simpler cab with the straight sides, the older smokebox without rivets and older style cylinders as on the red example below (and from these instructions)

Love an old school Lady Anne!

Fun fact: the one on the right is actually older than the one on the left

Manchester Pride over for another year. Another chance to show that steam is for everyone (not just old cis straight white men). The way the crowd cheered and applauded everytime we blew the whistle or make her bark will never, ever get boring.(yes leather daddies do hump coal. lol)

Thank you, I am very proud that almost every single one is rare or unusual in some way!

And yes, the SL1 (not mine btw) actually scales really well, It looked a treat with TR coaches unsurprisingly!

Today was a pleasant day babysitting Fenchurch, would've been nice to actually do some work after getting the engine into steam though!

Only slightly marred cos the railway played host to a racist homophobic twat of a DJ - surely a better figure could've been picked for publicity?

There have been various battery locos at different points but Bernard is the first 'permanent' fleet member.

Very old, chunky, heavy, noisy & historically significant, he is practically an honorary steam engine. His main job is to rescue them when they run out of fuel or simply don't want to behave
wrduckdog.bsky.social
The Lawley is the latest steamer to join the fleet

A bespoke model built in South Africa, she has an interesting history but I think she's all too aware! Very stubborn to light up unless she wants to, also HATES points, curves and leaks like a sieve

But she will shape up into a hardworking engine

Jupiter's a loco of contradictions. They're based on an 80s Lady Anne but their true origins and builder remain a complete mystery

Stubborn to get going, their growl being akin to a Class 37 - but once in steam, are impeccably smooth, trundling away calmy with any load effortlessly (but noisily!)

The other unnamed green thing (noticing a trend?) is a Roundhouse Carrie who has been modified in respect to her colonial origins.

Despite arriving in the collection under unusual circumstances, she has proven to be an impeccable calm and well-behaved, if plain engine.
wrduckdog.bsky.social
The unnamed Liberty Belle lives up to her name as being something of a southern Belle (despite being built in Doncaster!).

She is very polite, quite and well-mannered like any Roundhouse loco. If you want a pleasant day out with no fuss, she's your engine!
wrduckdog.bsky.social
The unnamed void defies their origins; for an Accucraft model of a WD Baldwin, they are rather sure-footed, docile, calm and yet have a surprising level of stamina

They stand out a little as a prototypical model but their reliability ensures their place (for now!)

Elisabeta is an oddball in the fleet; being CNC machined from a chunk of aluminium, she definitely stands out visually. She does not like to go slow, often seen thundering across at lightning speed

Currently out of service after boiler repairs and awaiting wheel replacement
wrduckdog.bsky.social
As Of Yet Unnamed Green Thing ended up in the fleet by accident. In spite of their immense chunkiness, and weight, they are a little bit of a speed demon - they will just stroll away with the most ridiculous trains without breaking a sweat.

They will just keep going for ages, little will stop them
wrduckdog.bsky.social
Dolgoch is being sold so not much to say (she is a lot like her larger sister!)

Osprey is the old lady of the fleet; she wobbles, has incontinence issues but she retains her elegance, hauling heavy loads at a sedate pace. She thinks going backwards is beneath an engine of her standing
wrduckdog.bsky.social
Mary Prince, an Accucraft Joan and Keith's big tank gf

She's very chunky and large and takes a long while to get ready - but when she does, she is very strong and will just keep going (though she is very loud and keen on announcing her presence to all!)
wrduckdog.bsky.social
The OG, Keith!

He is an Accucraft Edrig and was for over a decade, my only engine. He is rugged, reliable and very friend-shaped, a pleasant and docile fella

He hasn't seen much recent use as he's been due a makeover

For those of you who know me, you know one of my hobbies is 16mm and I have an assorted fleet of little scrunklies!

For those who don't, here's a thread talking about each one:
