Cambs wildlife sound recording society gifted this picture of David taken in the 90s. Victor C Lewis’ birdsong recordings became David’s source for transcription, analysis and composition. Fanfare to be premiered a week today is based on Lewis’ recording of a corn bunting 🎶 in Wiltshire on 21.7.63

When David was working on “Fanfare” the wildlife sound recording of the corn bunting’s original performance was 27 years old, now it is 62 🎶🐦 David’s composition has never before been performed - it is #newmusic to our ears, our perception, our appreciation.
