As to why I'm not as quick as others to immediately dismiss activism that doesn't perfectly align with the perfect leftist ideal.

I usually am reminded of the documentary "The Cove", about a fishing village in Japan that would herd a bunch of dolphins into this little hidden cove and slaughter them. While they were filming for the documentary, actress Hayden Panettiere joined some other activists in swimming out from the shore in that town to protest the dolphin slaughter. They were physically harassed by the fisherman and removed from the water. The protests made the news and the man the crew was following, Ric O'Barry, watched it and commented about how they accomplished their own goal of raising awareness but now they'd have their names, pictures, passports taken down by the police, warrants issued and now they can't come back into the country. So, "they're out of the game," as he put it.
I don't begrudge people their desire to pull a punch or have a more measured response because it doesn't always break down to simple physics, it's not always an equal and opposite reaction. Someone will push back harder than they were pushed. What then? There's another quote I also think about in these situations. "It's easy to find something worth dying for. Do you have anything worth living for?" Yeah, it may feel great to want to and possibly be in a position to lay down your life for your cause, your beliefs. Then, what good is that? What was accomplished? It's fine to die for the cause but you also need to want to live for the cause.

The lies are so tiresome. Easy to knock down and they get quietly retracted then new ones spring up in their place, slightly modified to fit into the new narrative being spun.

And a lot of it was just repeating over and over. The arguments, counters and counter-counters were all the same and trying to say anything different was just dismissed or rerouted back to whatever the next point in their protocol was. Tiring shit

I dont necessarily believe in karma, it implies the universe is fair, but if mishaps kept happening to me, i'd at least entertain the notion i made some mistakes and need to reconcile them and be cognizant of my failings in situations that may have a continuing impact on me.

I wish I were better at abstract expression. Sometimes, I feel like I'm doing something that could be artistic but I'm so basic and straightforward about it that it gets taken at face value instead of being like, exaggerated or sort of overwrought for dramatic effect.

I don't hold back when i really want something. I can be a bit much and overwhelming and suffocating but also just maybe the perfect amount of pushy along with being kind, caring, loving and devoted.

Its funny when people acknowledge covid messed with peoples heads and how they relate to others but have seemingly no awareness that it affected them too and they may have made mistakes they dont own up to since they believe they handle relationships well and it carries over
