Looks like every royal/national/state/ceremonial ballroom everywhere. Grand but boring.
This happens every single day at the new pedestrian crossing that replaced the level crossing at Warrigal Rd, Parkdale/Mentone. Drivers somehow don’t see (or don’t care about) the red traffic lights, even though there’s 4 of them that shine brightly enough to burn retinas.
Also handy to have setup some favourite stops and routes in the PTV app, so you can receive disruption notifications before leaving home/work.
Days like this, it pays to know your bus alternatives. (Frankston line suspended between Moorabbin and Carrum due to debris caught in overhead wires.) #PTV
I assume ‘recall’ in this context means ‘Jeep sends service technician to fix bricked vehicles’?
The plants didn’t stand a chance.

He started in the role on 27 June, after a tumultuous period of leadership departures. I imagine the Allan government that recruited him would be loathe to let him go, as they’ve staked a huge amount of political capital into his appointment.
Arrived later than expected, but the windy fury has hit urban Melbourne. Hold on.
Charge the miners a cost of goods for the minerals they extract. Just as every other business has to pay for their inputs, so should miners.
Why all the weather alerts ‼️for VIC today? This cyclonic-looking weather system is moving in a south-west direction across the state, bringing strong Northerly wind initially, shifting to Westerly as it passes over. 80-100km gusts. Expect flying trampolines🌀, trees down 🪾, powerlines down⚡️.
Keep an eye out for these on marketplace… #Louvre #chainsaw #robbery
Victoria has a public asset maintenance problem. Everywhere you go there’s roadside rubbish, overgrown medians, vandalised signs, graffitied walls, potholes, unrepaired armco barriers and wire-rope barriers.

If you subscribe to the ‘broken window’ philosophy, it’s no wonder there’s a crime problem.
STOP the NIMBYS
BUILD MENTONE

Someone’s fighting back.
This is Amtrak Way, the access road to BWI Thurgood Marshall station, the nearest transit station to Maryland DOT Headquarters. Not even a yellow painted concrete divider, bollard, and reflector post were enough to stop a rampant vehicle crashing into the shared path. What hope do pedestrians have?
Another tree nearby is on struggle street
Sounds like something Morrison said he would do (but then didn’t)

The Station Pier area where it docked in Melbourne was entirely unsuitable for the necessary on-shore vehicle assembling prior to boarding, and the traffic volume it generated was unwanted.
Council set aside budget for a refresh of the #Parkdale shopping strip before the Level Crossing Removal project was announced.

They sensibly waited until the station was done before… today… consultation opens for comment!

Israel warned Palestine not to celebrate the ‘release’ of over 2000 ‘prisoners’, while itself conducting a global party over the ‘return’ of 20 ‘hostages’.

Writing their own story.
Perth showing how active infrastructure for walking/wheeling SHOULD be built when level crossings are removed. Shared use path is continuous; given its own underpasses and overpasses along with the railway, not interrupted by at-grade road crossings. Take note #LXRA

Sorry about that. All of Victoria
I’m not a fan of multi-storey car parks at train stations. But if you’re going to do it, this is the way.

When I suggested this approach to future-proof a multi-storey carpark built at Cheltenham station LXRA chuckled, then went ahead and built a dumb low ceiling, sloped-ramp, spiral structure. 🤦‍♂️
96 outbound, still Sunday morning.
Standing room only on the 96 tram/light rail on a Sunday morning. More frequent services desperately needed in our big city.
