Yellowhammer Fund won its lawsuit against Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall. The court made it clear: Alabama’s laws do not extend beyond state lines to penalize people for getting or assisting with legal healthcare elsewhere.

This day is a reminder: honoring Indigenous Peoples is not symbolic. It is about listening, supporting, and following their leadership toward collective liberation.

3) Center Indigenous voices in conversations about Reproductive Justice and land justice.
4) Advocate for policies that return land and resources to Indigenous communities.

Actionable ways to support Indigenous communities:
1) Learn and amplify the history and current struggles of Indigenous peoples in your region.
2) Support Indigenous-led organizations, like Indigenous Women Rising, with donations, volunteer time, or advocacy.

Indigenous communities have long modeled resilience, care, and self-determination: principles at the heart of Reproductive Justice. We uplift organizations like Indigenous Women Rising, who lead with vision and fight for Indigenous sovereignty, reproductive care, and community well-being.

These communities have faced centuries of displacement, cultural erasure, and systemic violence at the hands of the U.S. government. This is a legacy that continues to impact access to health, land, and reproductive rights today.

Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the original stewards of the Deep South: the Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek (Muscogee), and Cherokee peoples, whose lands we now inhabit.

Hispanic/Latine Heritage Month honors the legacy, leadership, and care of Latine communities in the fight for Reproductive Justice. Their resilience and vision have contributed to movements for liberation—and continue to light the way forward.

We appreciate every person who takes time out of their busy schedules to help their community. When we volunteer we push back against narratives that say we don't care for each other.

Coming out is a deeply personal decision. In many ways, our society has come a long way to make LGBTQQIA+ folks feel safer to live in their truth. However, we still have a long way to go.

Today, we recommit ourselves to the protection, support, and care of any queer person who chooses to come out.

As the year draws to a close, we’re turning collective care into collective power.

This season, give your pre-loved treasures a new life and help fund the fight for Reproductive Justice in the Deep South. Every item donated is a step toward liberation.

Actionable strategies:
- Fund mutual aid, healing, and care as core infrastructure, not afterthoughts.
- Abandon extractive funding models and shift to deep, sustained, trust-based support.
- Redistribute power alongside money by placing rural leaders in decision-making roles.

Centering the intersecting realities of race, gender, class, and geography by foregrounding the leadership of Black women and TGNC people navigating rural neglect, RJ, and economic precarity. It challenges philanthropy to address communal needs and what leaders require to sustain this work.

Later this month our Executive Director, Jenice Fountain, will be heading to the UNITY summit to meet with funders, organizers, and community leaders to encourage people to reimagine how philanthropy can, and should, operate.

What to expect:
Dr. Baker will begin with a grounding meditation. Then folks will choose from a selection of writing prompts. You'll be given time and space to write, dance, sing, paint, and create. To conclude, we'll come back together to share before a final meditation.

This Monday we want to spotlight TKO for providing access to affirming healthcare, HIV/STI testing and treatment, housing support, nutrition support, and peer support across Alabama and the South. As a Black, trans-led org they prove every that Reproductive Justice should always be inclusive.
