Rehtaeh Anne Parsons was only 17 years old when she took her life, following an alleged gang rape 17 months earlier and experiencing bullying.

This month is also dedicated to Sexual Assault Awareness. More of that later.

I don’t want to go to France anymore. I have this strong feeling that I’m going to hate it and feel like an outsider among these “close” friends who are going to enjoy it. I do have a classmate who always includes me. His name is Alex. He’s very kind. Without him, I probably wouldn’t have signed up

I signed up for this school party last Friday, but I didn’t go. Not because I didn’t want to, but because people from my class didn’t go, and I don’t really have any friends, so it would be ass. It sucks to be lonely.

I’m not introverted by nature. Close people —which consists only of family members and ex-friends— would say the same. I am not the type of person who doesn’t like to socialize or talk. Quite the opposite. But bullying changes people. It makes them think twice before they do something. That’s me.
