I won't disclose how long I sat, watching & waiting to capture this video but I am going to tell you, the actual speed of the transformation took 8 minutes. In order to share this with you, I sped up the video 8 times.

The caterpillar I found, passed away last night 😭
My season is not looking good. This time last year I was already releasing many orchid swallowtail butterflies and monarchs. I've yet to see a single butterfly this year 😔

Hours in the garage, I found MANY things, ravaged by time & bugs 🫣 I've also found glass shards in a very awkward place (not my body) where I can't remove it without tweezers.
None of what I've found is the wood I have been looking for. I also have to try to clean up the resulting mess.

Found the wood I knew we had. It took about an hour to dig through the garage. I'm not pleased to tell you, it's meters and meters of skirting 🙄😒
Can it be treated to survive the outside? Use it like siding? #CarpenterBluesky
