She holds your gaze confidently – her stare gentle yet seemingly all-seeing. You two are amongst the trees in the dark forest; you can see the axe you left in the tree stump earlier that day and the basket of wood you’ve collected sat behind her. You recall that you entrusted her to keep watch whilst you rested your eyes for a short while. She’s been so kind to you even though you are but a stranger – it can be a lonely and a dangerous place in the forest but she always makes you feel safe and welcome. As you join her by the campfire, from the corner of your eye you catch sight of something thin and long, like a rope with a frayed end, flicking around behind her… however in the darkness of the night you can’t be sure what you’ve seen. Perhaps your eyes are playing tricks on you?

Late Bloom 🌸

Experimented with the default watercolour brushes in Fresco and ended up taking a Skill Share course on how to use them halfway through the piece because I had no idea what I was doing 🤣🤣

Came out okay? I think?

A middle aged East Asian man is on his knees in front of a large ceramic bowl holding a long wooden stick. Using his sturdy arms, he mixes the contents of the bowl with it. He is surrounded by an array of materials and tools used for making paper umbrellas. The tatami room he is in is flooded with light of the late evening sun. Three umbrellas with floral motifs painted on have been set open in the doorway to outside, casting long shadows into the room. As the man uses a bit of force to pull the stick towards himself, he takes a puff of his cigarette tucked into a corner of his slightly upward turned lips. ‘What another peaceful day it’s been,’ he thinks.

Did a fashion life drawing workshop today. I loved having a play with different media and combining them in unexpected ways. The PM session with inks was especially fun - it was so freeing to let the water and ink flow and do its own thing. (And I didn’t erase anything the entire day!!)

In my search of a leafy house plant that will survive my not-so-green-fingers and total lack of plant knowledge, I came across plenty of people who definitely knew what they were doing 🌱

His wide denim jeans, and long red coat swishes with each bounce in his step. In his massive black backpack, he carries a tall house plant with spindly stems and leaves.
