Just popping in here to remind you all that 5 years ago today Taylor Swift announced Folklore.

Which means that it has been exactly 5 years since @sneffleupagus.bsky.social and the rest of that Mt. Holyoke cohort did NOT interrupt my teaching to let me know it was announced.

I still feel hurt.

I finally got @triangleman.bsky.social’s How Did you Count? in front of some 2nd graders today!

Their work reminded me that math should be about honoring thinking, engaging with other’s ideas, and trusting the math that lives in our students’ heads.

Fair.

It was infamous within a small circle of us because I built a math task from it and it ended up with more questions than answers. And we spent a lot of time talking about it.

So when Mike and I got to go together, it was closer to a pure definition of infamous.
