“Rudeness” is highly contextual. I’ve seen Americans define a waiter not smiling broadly at them, or not ask them how their food is three seconds after their first bite of food.

I’ve found the assumed “rudeness” to be the traveller’s failure to both research and attempt to conform to local custom.

I love when they put expiry dates on their completely made up plates, like it gives some kind of legitimacy to their crazy. They think they’re geniuses playing 4D chess, meanwhile they’ve just made extra work for themselves when the plate “expires”.
