RFK Jr.'s claim that vaccines didn't save lives, sanitation did, is half right—and dangerously wrong.

While sanitation helped in the early 20th century, vaccines saved millions of lives in the later 20th century and reduced severe impairments like brain damage. More in @statnews.com

Stop popping supplements. Start eating food.

Ashwin Rodrigues’s piece in the @nytimes.com alarmingly reports that Americans are taking more supplements than ever before and it can hurt – rather than help – our overall health. Here's what actually works: eating real food.

My students at the University of Pennsylvania are brilliant, but they couldn't fully focus in class.

That's why I banned all technology in my classroom. No online shopping, no Instagram, no email, no internet. The results speak for themselves.

Public health requires investing today to protect people tomorrow.

As I shared on @vox.com, we're already seeing the damage caused by the Trump admin: Rising vaccine skepticism and preventable outbreaks. The Texas measles deaths are just the beginning. www.vox.com/today-explai...

RFK is turning the CDC into an ideological rubber stamp of the Trump admin. Congress must use their oversight power to restore qualified leadership and adequate funding to the CDC. Our children's health and our scientific credibility depend on it.

In a new ‪@nytopinion.nytimes.com‬ essay, Team Scientist @zekeemanuel.bsky.social draws from behavioral science and his own teaching experience to argue that removing phones from classrooms can make students more focused and classes more effective.

As a professor, I'd give MAHA a "C." Success: spotlighting phones' harm to kids, chronic illness/food connections. Problems: vaccine skepticism (2 children died from measles), questionable supplements, and little real action on healthy food subsidies. My thoughts in @thefp.com ⬇️

Because of Florida's decision to phase out childhood vaccine mandates, many will die of preventable diseases like measles, chickenpox, tetanus, and diphtheria. This is regressive, bringing us back to the early 1950s when parents had to worry that their kids might die from diseases like polio.

There's a deadly condition killing Americans: healthcare churn.

15-20% of Americans lose coverage yearly due to job changes. Insurers won't invest in prevention if patients will switch next year. I explain how to fix this crisis in @statnews.com.

When patients get better provider info from Google than their own insurers, the system is broken. Great to see CMS exploring a national provider directory. This is the kind of admin streamlining we need to reduce costs without compromising care.

Did you know a hip replacement could cost you $20K or $98K in the same city? In a new @nejm.org Catalyst study focused on physician intervention, we found that even modest referral changes can result in huge cost savings.

Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" just exempted critical treatments like Keytruda, which made Merck over $29B in 2024, from Medicare negotiations. This will cost the govt billions. If you believe in the "art of the deal," why not negotiate the best deal for cancer patients?

Social connectedness is critical to our health and well-being. I was reminded of this during an unexpectedly wonderful DMV experience (I know, impossible!). The clerk was friendly, asked about my day, and even restarted my process when I missed a section. We could all use more of this!

If we're serious about prevention and better chronic disease management, we need to fundamentally change how we pay primary care physicians: higher pay and bonuses tied to outcomes like ensuring diabetes is well-managed.
