That, too. There’s an ambivalence here that I can’t settle. It’s important for radical culture to maintain its independence & purity, but it’s also important that it not become gatekept territory. Yes, I agree. In my personal life, I have absolutely zero qualms about listening to whatever the hell I want. I just pause for a moment when I think about the bigger cultural issues raised by punk going mainstream - represented by this album and the 11 million+ people(!!) who own it.
