Our beautiful boys. They rarely line up like this.
One frequently hears Republicans complaining about the "Nanny State".

Well here's Nanny Ernst with another way to make life a bit more uncomfortable for the poor.

Wonder if she ever took her hungry child to McDonald's for dinner at the end of a long day and was grateful to have that flexibility.
Joni Ernst: "I have a McSCUSE ME Act which would disallow those SNAP benefits being used at fast food restaurants. We want to make sure that those hungry families, those food insecure families actually are receiving benefits, but we want them to really use those dollars on nutrient-rich foods."

All that Hegseth achieved with his threats was to remind us (if we needed reminding) that Mark Kelly is a truly outstanding American and that we are fortunate to have him in public life.
Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), answering questions at news conference says:

"I was notified of a potential court martial...... through a tweet"

Also trade deficits would disappear if we included services in the balance of payments calculation.
"Trade deficits are not an emergency. They're not even a problem."

"Remind me what year are we on the Jewish calendar....It's at least that many years that there have been trade deficits."

"Kinetic" attached to strike is redundant. If you doubt that consider what a non-kinetic strike would be.

Sadly it has become a common usage among Pentagon and White House spokespeople. I guess it sounds more lethal or something.
Last week: In response to WaPo’s story on the Sept. 2 boat strikes, the Pentagon says “This entire narrative is completely false.”

Today: The White House confirms that a 2nd strike happened and that “Secretary Hegseth authorized Admiral Bradley to conduct these kinetic strikes”

This says it all.

Republicans know they are going to get hammered in the 2026 elections.

If SCOTUS allows the TX redistricting to proceed the Democrats will gain even more seats there due to the spreading out of the R vote across the redrawn districts.
Another one is headed for the exits.

As usual from Derek Guy, a wealth of information.
Yesterday, Roger Stone announced his partnership with a menswear company, where together they've released a collection of tailored clothing items.

Here is my review of those pieces. 🧵

Wondering if they do even now.
When I joined Twitter in 2014, this was the 2nd tweet I posted.

Cassidy is not a doctor anymore, he’s a politician and he says what he needs to say to try and stay in the Senate.

Perhaps stop affording him credibility on issues related to medicine.
He betrayed his oath as a doctor and voluntarily supported a man whose insane policies will kill children, all for the sake of power, MAGA, and politics.

I hope he is shamed for life.

But Sen. Bill Cassidy, a physician, did emphasize his belief that vaccines are safe.

In 2021 over 2.5 million people over 65 died in the United States. Until their deaths had been processed through the Social Security system one can imagine that many of them were sent Social Security payments.

A routine matter open to distortion by lying demagogues.
This sounds just like the lie when ICE raided that building in Chicago and claimed they arrested a bunch of dangerous immigrants

Then they prosecuted none of them
KUDLOW: Are you able to reform the SNAP and food stamp program? Are there a lot of able-bodied people who shouldn't be in there?

BROOKE ROLLINS: What DOGE and our amazing team at USDA have found is 186,000 dead people are receiving SNAP benefits. We've made hundreds of arrests.

The ACA is a halfway house on the road to decent health care for the American people.

“Trumpcare” will be the whole way in an entirely different direction.
NEW: As health insurance bills rise, Republicans are still seeking an Obamacare alternative

There is no legislative product yet.

No consensus in the party about a plan.

But top GOP lawmakers and policy figures on Capitol Hill have begun discussing concepts.
