IMO, CBC is all about the "but" these days. Seems good news is no news. Unless there are naysayers, there's no story! Click-bait rules!!

There will be more. Churchill for example.

Port of Quebec expansion years ago because of the environmental impact.
So PM Carney had a choice.
This project that has backers and a plan or talk someone into restarting the Port of Quebec project that he knew has already failed the environmental impact.
IMO he made the right choice.

CBC talks to people who have concerns about this project.
The local person has concerns about traffic and the local environment. She has no proof about the environmental impact.
Then CBC talks to an "expert" who says the Port of Quebec should have been chosen.
Yet PM Trudeau rejected the

It doesn't matter what you do there will always be someone to complain about it, and in Canada the opposition/media will portray them as heroes without even considering the validity of their claims.
That is why Canada has been in a constant state of decline.

Yes here we are. The here and now dictates what Canada and Canadians must do in the here and now, if we are to survive , if we are to grow, if we are to become masters not only in our own home, but masters of our own destiny. The US Noose is loosening, time to remove it completely

And by using an established route that already feeds into the Burnaby/Westridge terminal — a port that can handle the traffic without touching the North Coast tanker exclusion zone — we keep it practical, efficient, and far safer than starting from scratch somewhere else.

Just a thought

What if we built the new line right alongside the existing Trans Mountain corridor — the same right-of-way that already runs from Alberta to Burnaby?

We have to stick together on this.
The only way out is through it — we’re far too deep into the storm to turn back now.

It’s like getting home in a snowstorm: slow, careful, steady… but we are getting there.

And to be clear — Canada is making up ground in other areas.

If we can’t, it pulls the rug out from under the whole plan.

So I’m asking the people of B.C., directly and honestly:

You are the ones on the ground.

Is there a way to open that corridor in a respectful, least-harmful way?
What would be acceptable?

I truly hope we can come to an agreement to get the pipeline through, because getting oil to the Pacific is one of the major building blocks for keeping Canada’s long-term plan on track.

I hope it’s done with respect, and with the least possible impact, but either way, we have to find a path forward

But here we are.
