This has not gotten much attention, but it should.

Virginia under Youngkin returned to an insanely harsh system where people convicted of any felony lose their voting rights FOR LIFE.

Dems' win this week mean they'll get to advance a constitutional amendment to end lifetime disenfranchisement.

Look, I don't want to make this about me, but my cousin's husband went to college with Mamdani and so basically this is partially my win too.

Appeals Court Upholds Shaken Baby Conviction Despite Medical Examiner Recanting Testimony
Dissenting from the court’s majority, one judge sounded the alarm about ignoring recanted forensic testimony, saying the medical examiner’s reversal “calls into doubt the foundation of the trial.”

Hey @jerrigreen4tn.bsky.social, if you sold tiny Jerri Green for TN Gov stickers on your website, I'd plaster a bunch of these canned goods I'm about to put in blessing boxes all over my bright red town with 'em. Just saying!

This case is truly bananas, y'all.
A Tennessee man has been in jail for more than a month after posting a meme on Facebook trolling the memorial service for Charlie Kirk.

His bond has been set at $2 million.

Curious: and small Democrat groups in conservative areas planning Democrat branded blessing boxes or weekly food handouts during the shutdown? I'm thinking of starting one here, but would love to hash the idea out with others.

The government is just selling off stuff we, the taxpayers, paid for? Found on Facebook marketplace, from a federal building in Chicago, of course.

I'm in an area where Trump won 86 percent of the vote. We lined two sides of a city block this morning. Definitely way larger turnout than I've ever seen.
I hear from informed sources that these #NoKings rallies are more than twice as big as last time, making them easily the largest protests in US history. Thanks to everyone and especially organizers.

Look, if I'm going to spend my life going to protests in rural Tennessee, I'm going to wear a unicorn costume and dance my tail off.

Old enough to remember when my editor yelled at me for being in the office too much. "This isn't where you find stories! No stories are happening here!" Paying commercial office space rates for journalists to all sit in NYC is silly.
2. Rolling Stone is owned by a large media conglomerate, which is ending remote work across its brands.

My home is Portland, Oregon, ~1,000 miles from the nearest office, so this marks the end of the line for me at RS.

Lol I avoid shaming PR folks (they have a job to do, and that's life), but this pitch is actually the worst pitch you could send me, a person who hates billionaires and loves firm boundaries.

Me, annoyingly explaining the grand jury selection process to my partner: it's random, you're just selected out of a database...
Him: in this case, a federal database?
Me: yes, that...oh...wait, they've been demanding voter information from states.
Him: and sharing data between agencies.
