No, we’re not going to “class consciousness” our way out of racism and anti-semitism.

Leftists: "I've been throwing punch after punch at every establishment Democratic politician I can find. Why isn't Trump begging for mercy yet?" 😗

"Republicans are wealth-destroying Nazis who are starving their own voters while also withholding their healthcare. Here's why that's bad news for Democrats."
New in PN: Cue the rebellion

"The unfortunate conclusion to the shutdown is going to fuel a rebellion within the Democratic Party, one that has already begun but will only get stronger. And despite all the justified disgust now being expressed at Dems, in the long run it will be good for the party"
Cue the rebellion
The Democratic base is enraged at their party's capitulation — and that's a good thing.

It's either Democrats or Nazis.
That's it. Those are your choices

Decide what team you're on & if it's Democrats, start fucking act like it for a change.

The problem is that the only defense against a President breaking the law is impeachment.

And Republicans refuse to hold Trump responsible.

And voters would rather blame Democrats for Republicans not holding Trump responsible.

So here we are.

"If Democrats are seen as the party looking out for federal employees by getting them their paychecks that will be a PR disaster because people hate federal employees" sure is a take you can post, I can say so because I'm unfortunate enough to have seen it with my own eyes

"yeah yeah the republicans are bad and stuff, BUT TO GET BACK TO THE REAL TARGET OF MY RAGE, CHUCK SCHUMER!" is not a statement made by someone who is actually taking the first clause of it all that seriously.

The ACA cuts happened in the reconciliation bill in July, every single Democrat voted against it and they got 3 detectors so Vance had to break the tie, and the Dems just shut down the government for 40 days to try and get them to undo it, it is absolutely deranged to blame this on “Democrats”
Yes - this is a loss because Democrats have now signed on to ACA cuts as a complicit party and once again made it a less effective issue for the mid terms
From that perspective, this would be a failure, right? Because the Dems lose the narrative that they did everything to stand in the way of ACA cuts.

If only Kamala Harris had a Nazi tattoo on her chest for 20 years and a long history of bigotry, leftists could have still found it in their hearts to vote for her.
I think it’s very telling that there are ppl who still double down on why their *conscience* wouldn’t allow them to vote for Harris but they’ll excuse every Nazi, antisemite, and fake ass Christian. Explain this to me. All I see is them doubling down on their complete lack of any integrity/morality.

I know folks love to shit on Schumer because he doesn‘t scream and wag his finger but what he did today was pretty smart.

Between the orange demon throwing a fit because he can’t starve Americans and the GQP even refusing to do this…Republicans look like huge a-holes.

They would have gotten

One day people will realize true progressivism is *protecting* incremental wins which added up becomes transformative progress. Demanding everything and the moon while not actually doing anything personally to move an inch forward isn’t progressive. It’s ignorant, whining and expecting to be babied.

If people spent a quarter of the time that they spend yelling at Democrats like Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries for shit that isn't their fault and instead went to yell at republicans who are responsible for every bit of it we would win super majorities for the rest of our lives.

Folks, if you don’t understand why Democrats would want to force Republicans back into another healthcare costs debate *just in time for the midterms*

Then you are too stupid to be bleating your political opinions in public.

One problem with the "trolly cart problem" is that for most people who talk about it, this is the actual scenario they're imagining and are judging you for not picking.

The problem with a lot of pop leftism is it doesn't give the impression it wants to be part of a victorious bureaucracy, it gives the impression it wants to be part of a perpetually frustrated and powerless counterculture simmering in resentment in decaying flats.
The democratic socialist future of America will require millions of Leslie Knopes doing the thankless work of the bureaucracy required to provide services to the people. If you think people like her are "neoliberal shills," you're not really a democratic socialist, you're just a cosplayer.

Imagine having the chance to fill out a paper ballot and mail it in to oppose this shit and not doing it.
this morning, ICE went into a Spanish language immersion daycare and took a teacher from the building in front of screaming and crying kids and parents at dropoff and the daycare had to shut down for the day (near Lane Tech, where they were yesterday). Really hoping today's "theme" is not "daycare."

"What should poor people be allowed to eat?" seems to be a burning question for those who aren't poor, have never been poor, and can afford to eat what they like, but want to keep poor people from eating anything that tastes really good. "No fresh meat," said Iowa, a few years ago.

if you don't show up to vote, it doesn't matter how many protests you arrange or attend, how loud you yell for a general strike, or anything else you've been doing for the last 10 months.

one vote means more than all of that put together. use your power.

The president's job is not to pull your heads out of your asses and prop your eyes open while policy explanations flash on a screen for you like a Clockwork Orange experiment. You giant babies have to exercise a shred of civic responsibility to inform yourselves once in a great while.
