So will the House be forced to swear in the new Rep and have the Epstein vote if they reconvene to vote on the budget to reopen the government?

Not to distract from Walz's underlying point, but do we actually know that the contractors working on that ballroom are being paid? Stiffing contractors is like Trump's signature thing.
Walz: "They are paying contractors to pay down the East Wing but they're not putting money into the food bank. So if there's a sense of frustration in America, it's very real ... when the White House press secretary said their top priority is the ballroom, we could not disagree more."

What if someone made this kind nonsense chaos a primary mechanic in a (human-designed) game? Like those games where your changing view perspective changes the reality in the game, but boatloads more insane and disorienting.
Oh my god some fucking tech dingdong posted this on Twitter with the caption "AI games are going to be amazing" totally seriously, you have to watch it. You have to. In full screen.

Defenders of ACA act like there aren't dozens of examples of countries with models much closer to universal health care. They hand-wave about what is/was "practical," but that doesn't change the fact that the private insurance model (mostly tied to employment) is an insane way to provide health care

Trump turning the white house into DC mar-a-lago is pretty funny.
I really resent my tax dollars being spent on this

Well HUD is rescinding and revising funding opportunities, and the new requirements explicitly require communities to criminalize homelessness, deny the existence of trans people, and cooperate with immigration enforcement. Shit's getting dark.

One of the most annoying things is when I'm searching via google, and it pops up the Ai-generated response at the top. Often there are linked sources (that can be decent), but those sources are otherwise absent form the regular search results. Maybe just give me the sources w/o the slop.
This. Most people I know think GPT is a search engine that provides answers conversationally.

They uncritically believe it is searching all available info, and sifting and measuring it for accuracy, and then responding.

Seeing a lot of discourse on investor-owned housing. Many people seem to be conflating the 'availability of housing' with the 'availability of affordable housing.' Just b/c a unit remains on the market doesn't that the people who were living there (or wanted to live there) can still do so.

This is correct. Any candidate cynically “triangulating” on trans kids is a non-starter, and now is the time to say so. There’s still so much time to advance candidates that DON’T suck.
I will never, ever vote for Gavin Newsom. Ever, under any circumstances. I don't care if he becomes the Dem nominee, he's still not getting my vote.
On a recent podcast Gavin Newsom tells Shawn Ryan how the Trans sports issue opened the door for him to change his mind on GAC for Trans Youth.

As someone who adored him since 2004 and voted for him 5 times, I can't wait for him to leave office.

There is no way I will be voting for him a 6th time.

Funniest outcome: Musk is stripped of his US citizenship because he lied and overstayed his visa. He then immediately applies for and receives refugee status as a white South African. All of Musk's companies relocate to Idaho.
