At 82, Monet learned he had cataracts. He wrote: “I realized with terror that I could see nothing with my right eye.”

After three surgeries, his colors shifted—fiery reds and yellows dominate his late works. What he lost in sight, he gained in vision.

Ohio, an economy the size of Switzerland, sees just 48 trains a week and has no rail links between its major cities. Yet the state found $600M for a new Cleveland Browns stadium, 136× more than it plans to spend on rail projects over the next two years.

Monet is buried in Giverny, the village where he lived, gardened, and painted for over 40 years.

His grave is surrounded by the flowers he once immortalized.
He rests inside one of his greatest artworks.

My husband is always asking me why we don't buy Costco Organic chicken.

It's this right here.

(Also, I hate beyond words that it's a privilege to be able to afford meat from cleaner vendors. Everyone should have access to a safe affordable food supply).
When a plant fails the USDA’s salmonella tests, the agency does not have the authority to stop the plant’s operation, stop raw meat from reaching store shelves or recall raw meat products.
