Strikes are popular. Every time there isn't a strike happening someone should be saying "I miss strikes, do you know when the next strike is?"

Australia just recorded zero cervical cancer cases in women under 25 for the first time since records began in 1982. The amazing result of HPV vaccination.

The fact doomers have gone from "America is over" to "Dems won't hold anyone responsible when this is over" can actually be read as an optimistic signal imo.

Points for not being mealy mouthed about this.
Carney’s deal with Danielle Smith is the sellout of the century: scrapping climate legislation for a pipeline that will never be built.

We need powerlines, not pipelines. Our path is through climate leadership & building good jobs in the clean economy.

Orange liberals: burning the planet would be ok if we were nicer to people in BC.
Mark Carney’s announcement helps Danielle Smith distract from her attacks on public health care, workers, trans kids, and education.

He should be standing up against these attacks, not working to appease Danielle Smith

Did not have Liberals as explicit climate change accelerationists on my Carney sucks ass bingo card.

Also McKenna bought a pipeline.
People who care about climate change are “dreaming nostalgically about the past.” - Minister Hodgson

Gotcha. That explains a lot.

Audience culture is the worst it's ever been, I swear to god. People forgot how to act. I'm at the theater, trying to enjoy my show, which I've paid GOOD MONEY for, and these two old assholes are in the balcony heckling the life out of the poor bear onstage. Not letting him finish a single joke.

As it was with Notley's "Climate Leadership Plan", the non-wonk way to learn if a climate move is bad is ask "does industry like it?"
Well this just in from Smith's chief of staff

Alberta democracy: do you want the low tax, planet burning, anti-worker conservatives, or the low tax, planet burning, anti-worker conservatives who hate trans people. Choice!
The new Canada-Alberta MOU is a positive step for our energy future.

Meaningful investments in Pathways, clear measures to reduce emissions, and a stronger industrial carbon price give Albertans the certainty we need to move forward. /1

Legit could the ABNDP be more pathetic? The correct response is: stop letting oil and gas drive this province and the world into the ground.

Lets face it, this is a good day for oil companies, businesses, and those in the oil sector. Its a bad day for the environment and for reconciliation with Indigenous nations whose lands this thing will go over. As Blanchet stated, this is the official end of Canada's climate commitments.

Yesterday I was up on that pipeline route and a First Nation land guardian was explaining to me the riskiness of shipping oil on those waterways and I kept thinking: how f-ing broke is Canada that it’s thinking of doing this? This is ‘selling your kidney’ level of desperation.
