More and more, I see people I care about choosing (consciently or not) beautiful lies over truths that could free them. #PostTruth no longer influences the #media alone — it’s shaping how we think, speak, and build relationships.

#DeusEx ❤️ "Grossman: One of my favourite moments is the stand-off on the plane with Anna Navarre, where she’s telling you to kill the guy. And you realise you don’t have to. That opened up my understanding of what a game narrative could be. [...] Suddenly the medium looks bigger than you thought."

Watching Season 4 of #TheWitcher feels like a test of suspension of disbelief (sometimes) — but it’s still fun. Never underestimate the cost of small #narrative cracks. Everything matters.

Like Russian dolls, #Monsters nest inside each other: #EdGein, his mother, the ideology that made her, the culture that mirrored his violence. Each one born of the last.

The real horror is not the dolls, but the hands of the old, patriarchal god that keeps carving them.

There are no heroes in the war story of #AHouseOfDynamite, because in a negative-sum game, everyone loses. It's nice to remind us that endgame still means game over for all in a nuclear age.

"I hope you hear inside my voice of sorrow
And that it motivates you to make a better tomorrow
This place is cruel, nowhere could be much colder
If we don't change, the world will soon be over
Living just enough, stop giving just enough for the city."

Great essay about #DiscoElysium. Both personal and critical. A lack of sincerity is plaguing the media. Metamodernism still has a long way to go.

historically, racism has been weaponized by ruling classes to drive wedges between workers of different nationalities/ethnicities/religions and align a favored group with the ruling class against everyone else.

Great analysis regarding digital #pollution by Gerry McGovern, author of "World Wide Waste". The same argument could be made about media.

"The beating heart of digital is pumped with a toxic flow of #waste. #Data centers should be called data dumps."

What makes #StrangerThings stand out isn’t only nostalgia — it’s radical sincerity. It treats the relationships and emotions people usually mock today with genuine care. Being human means looking strange sometimes — and that's a good thing.

Could be the artistic style for a (disturbing) #crpg. "A series of #drawings from an #isometric perspective, in the style of computer #games. The subject of each drawing is the main image associated with a cultural event."

A few years ago, I made a #Bitsy game for #Halloween, in a time of extreme loneliness — a little homage to #horror movies and video rental stores. It’s a short adventure, like a retro trip into the '90s zeitgeist. Looking back, I can see its flaws, but the heart was there. #indiedev

Interesting how Paul Thomas Anderson revisits in #OneBattleAfterAnother, half a centur later, one of the underlying theme of Magnolia: toxic masculinity and paternity. And still intertwined with a socio-political satire, except that things have got worse (in a way).

"Chaque génération, sans doute, se croit au-dessus de la bêtise du monde. Et la mienne semble ignorer, pourtant, qu’elle ne l'est pas." Pensée du jour, inspirée par Albert #Camus, à quelques nuances près.

A remarkable tool for understanding the structural logic of #interactivefiction. It digs deep into the roots of the medium (literally). Such an impressive undertaking.

The more I write interactive dialogues, the more it feels like level design — and vice versa. Just as dialogue is navigation through a socio-cognitive space, exploration is a form of conversation with the environment. In the end, both are about finding the best way to communicate. #gamedesign

The unexpected and symbolic sanctification of #EdGein at the end of #Monsters says something deeply unsettling about modern societies. About how a world where violence is systemic — organized, glorified, consumed, and reproduced — turns naturally monsters into saints (and martyrs).
