The fact that the thing we're calling artificial intelligence *can't do math* and yet we're jamming it into programs that successfully *have done math* for decades, then warning people against using the AI to do math, seems like an excellent summary of where we are.
Good thing no one uses Microsoft Excel for anything related to legal, regulatory or compliance business functions

Tesla is being hit with $329m in damages for a crash in which the human driver says he knew Autopilot wasn't self-driving. This is super important, because it shows that Autopilot's design and marketing can induce inattention even when drivers consciously know they are supposed to pay attention.

DMV hammering Disner now: so you think that dictionary definitions are more important context for the public's understanding of "pilot" in an automotive context than actual products using that word?

Starlink's connection speeds drop below the federal definition of "broadband" at a density of ~7 customers per square mile, according to recent research. The more the customers in an area, the slower everybody's connections get. Data shows that 83% of US Starlink customers get sub-broadband speeds.

Tesla's Potemkin robotaxis out here in Austin giving fake rides to nobody. Just driving into a neighborhood, stopping for a fake pickup, driving 5 minutes, and stopping for a fake drop-off.

The "driverless" fleet is no more than 20 cars max, and they can't keep them busy. Winning!
