It can’t be repeated often enough: Russia is a terrorist state.
We are unable to convince Ukrainians that our terror will stop if they surrender to us, because it will not. Thus they keep fighting.
“Something significant needs to change on the ground for one side or indeed both sides to make them conclude that they have little or nothing to gain from continuing the war,” international politics expert Jenny Mathers said.

The world owes so much to Ukraine. Shame on Trump and those who refuse to stand up to him.
Ukrainian soldiers on the eastern front called the original Trump peace plan capitulation and said they would refuse orders to abandon positions still held in Donetsk if issued, though many expressed exhaustion and hope for peace, NBC News reported.

Quoting commenter Todd Goldsbie shamelessly, but Ford really does have no shame.
“Marit not backing down thatFord gov is corrupt. In 2.5 B skills development fund Ford’s minister picked winners that were low rated.
Money goes to Ford’s inner circle and not to Ontario families that need help! Ford should be ashamed!” #ONpoli @maritstilesndp.bsky.social

Listen to penguins.

I dread how Trump and co are going to use this. RIP to the guards, who should never have been there.
Two members of the National Guard have been shot outside the White House.

Surely the White House will call for unity and not assign blame prematurely.

The murder of Sergei Magnitsky and the rot he exposed was yet another reason to isolate Putin and his criminal gang. Even with the Magnitsky laws, Russia still carried on, business as usual.
Putin's thugs repeatedly bullied him
to give testimony against Hermitage
and drop the accusations against the police
and tax authorities.
When he refused, he was moved
to the worst sections of the prison
and ultimately denied medical treatment.

THEY killed him.

Not surprising but utterly enraging.
Since 1990, the emissions share of the richest 1% has increased by 13%, and the richest 0.1% has grown by 32%, while the poorest 50% has decreased by 3%.

Penguins should be our overloads. And what a bunch of hateful and/or cowardly f**ks in the GOP.
We read this once, twice.. thrice. Not being American, we can’t be particular upset by the Hatch Act. What’s upsetting, is that they seem oblivious to their own hatred. Why would “mothers, babies, and the most vulnerable among us” be divorced from “illegal aliens” a mere two lines above it? 1/3

The world is deeply unserious about dealing with climate change. We need to reduce emissions by 50% in 5 years and we're nowhere near that.
World’s climate plans fall drastically short of action needed, analysis shows
Recent plans submitted to UN by more than 60 countries would cut carbon by only 10%, a sixth of what is needed

So important for people to realize how much provincial politics influences municipal decisions.
The Ontario municipal elections are one year from today & there’s one person who has inserted himself into every local race: Doug Ford. My Toronto Star column on the elephant in every Ontario voting booth.
Shawn Micallef: There’s one person all Toronto’s mayoral candidates should be running against in next year’s election
Even if he’s not on the ballot, all mayoral candidates should run against Doug Ford’s policies in next year’s municipal elections.
