@charlesgaba.com Well, I got a packet from BCBSTX today letting me know that my (employer-subsidized) Blue Advantage Plus Gold 203 plan that costs $1018.96/mth this year will cost $1664.62/mth in 2026. That is not a marketplace plan. That coverage is only for me, no dependents.

I buy organic milk despite the cost because it lasts longer in the fridge, so I can drink it all before it goes bad. My last gallon didn't make it a week before it went sour and I was so pissed I took it back and exchanged it. Never exchanged food before. But I had to do it.

That's the full amount, employer subsidy + my share = 1018 currently. Employer pays about double what I pay.

I'm more sick than angry. My disabled friend in Ohio is now without SNAP, health insurance and prescriptions because of the government shutdown. But he can't survive on government help alone. If not his two friends he would've died a few years ago. That's what I'm furious about!

Yes, in an email from my employer it says "Your employer has chosen Venteur as the administrator for your health benefits through an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA)." My employer contributes tax-free dollars towards my premiums.

It says it's a government-required notice that I can enroll in the same plan outside the Marketplace. But this isn't a Marketplace plan. They seem confused.
