Perfect Blue should need no introduction, but if you haven't seen it already: it's a psychological thriller about an idiol who's stalked and exploited by showbiz. It does contain attempted rape, and one instance of traumatic 'actress is in a gang rape scene'. It's fantastic and still looks gorgeous.

If the majority of 'sapphic' romance doesn't actually focus on F/F then it's pretty much a lesbophobic marketing label doing the actual original definition of queerbaiting.
