Just ordered a load of Christmas cards from @gailmyerscough.co.uk whose cards are the best I've found. Still got some from previous years, but she does update the designs.

Support small businesses and all that.

The Matthew effect (or cumulative advantage) describes the tendency of people who already have money or status to accrue yet more money or status. A poetic German phrase that sums up the concept is der Teufel scheißt immer auf den größten Haufen. It means "the Devil always shits on the largest pile"

Sleepless in Streatham.

I don't do sleepless, but when I do, it's Marks & Spencer's waxing gibbous spangly anxiety fever dream racing demon sleeplessness.

No shit.

I've been utterly floored by this virus since last week. Haven't been at work for a week, I'm just too wiped out.

As a PSA, if you catch this don't try to push through. You won't do it.

Watching "Love After Music" on Nettus Flickus. Been saving it for a rainy day and it's better than I'd hoped.

And yes I do know the back story.

Your regular reminder as you look out the window and curse the grey skies and sideways rain stair rods.

That is England.

That is what it's *supposed* to look like.

The judges decision on Strictly feels like a mercy killing TBH. Poor Alex pretty much stated that she was absolutely knackered and didn't have anything left in the tank.

Dr. Who has not "gone woke".

It always was.

This is why we loved it.

Through his life and extraordinary talent, the immigrant and refugee child Tomáš Sträussler who became known to us all as Tom Stoppard made British theatre and this country a better place to be.

You might even argue that he helped redefine Englishness through his astonishing legacy of work.
