When I was a child (back in Japan circa 1990s), it was common for us to go to the bookstore to buy a guide book like this one to get through the parts we got stuck since internet wasn't dedveloped enough. Looking back at this, I think it was quite a nice thing we book culture we had.

Some Pearl lore: I've loved the magical girl genre ever since I started watching anime/animation. Cardcaptor Sakura was my first show to get me into the genre, and I reallllly wanted to watch more Sailor Moon but the villains scared me too much LOL, so baby Pearl couldn't finish it.

Here's the thing: Nobody wants to hear about the virtues of their oppressors. If you know you're talking to someone who was (or even who thinks they were) oppressed by the subject of a conversation, it is in stunningly bad taste to force them to engage in or listen to you extolling their virtues.
