The Owl and the Mirror: A Fable for the Fractured
In an ancient, whispering forest, where every root held memory and every branch bore witness, lived an owl named Orla. She was old, older than any feathered creature could remember, and wise in the…

Oh my...
Oh my god… I’d forgotten about this
I told you that the foreshadowing this season was lazy and forced.

Musk vs Trump is entertaining, but it could also be the start of Armageddon

Oracle speaking at #FinOpsX reminds me distinctly of
IBM speaking at CloudConnect circa 2008 and simultaneously suggesting cloud was a huge rise and a no-go for enterprises and also that they (IBM) had the best cloud ever. #clouderati vibes

Oh my, Oracle speaker coming on stage. Introduced as "you may have heard of them, not only on the cloud side but also because of licensing." Gotta pay for superyachts somehow... #finopsx

Really interesting hearing from Salesforce around how the board and C-suite give direction to IT spend and budgets and how IT feeds up to help the leaders planning #finopsx

Hearing @awscloud.bsky.social talk about their #FinOps approaches. It's always a sensitive topic since total cost clarity isn't particularly in the vendors' interests. #finopsx

Very avant garde shirt from Mike Fuller at #finopsx with a bonus close up of his shoes...

Whoa. "@workday
is an AI platform company." Last time I looked Workday was a broad-based HRIS vendor. I guess times have changed... #finopsx

"Workday is an AI platform company." Not last time I looked...
And now the FinOps head from Workday takes the stage. They've been pushing AI extremely hard, by all accounts.

JR talking about how unconstrained costs threaten AI projects within organisations. I'm just not sure.... There's so much value, and not diving in risks being rendered obsolete so... #finopsx

MyPOV #finops for AI is too early since every organisation is panicking to accelerate AI adoption ASAP. AI for FinOps, however, is a no-brainer... #finopsx

It strikes me that a significant proportion of the #FinOps vendors originate from #Israel - coincidence???

Day two of #FinOpsX and a heavy dose of #AI soon to come...

The other week, I went to The End of the Golden Weather at the new Court Theatre. The play, Bruce Mason’s moving monologue about childhood summers and growing up, was brilliantly performed. I&#8217…

Interesting chat with @cloudeagle.bsky.social and CloudBolt who have partnered to bring the former's SaaS #FinOps tools into the latter's overall FinOps platform. The SaaS toolset makes sense to me, especially given integrations with finance and HR platforms to automate on and offboarding.

Interesting chat with some old friends who are deep within the IT departments of some big companies. Surprisingly they suggest widespread #FinOps adoption within their orgs, but confirm that disconnects between It and fiance limit the benefits

Particularly interesting that people in roles such as these tend to have a far longer tenure than more "sexy" roles within vendors....
Quite interesting to hear from the VPs of the hyperscalers, responsible for what is essentially the back office operations of their platforms. #finopsx
