Great write-up by Michael Christofides from @pgmustard.com

> It turns out that for the general case, boundary conditions and NULLs (of course!) always need to be considered, so you can get one or two extra Index Searches when these can’t be ruled out

#postgresql
What do the new Index Searches lines in EXPLAIN mean? - pgMustard
In Postgres 18 you’ll now see “Index Searches” lines in EXPLAIN ANALYZE output. If like me you were wondering what those mean exactly, you’re in the right place.

I think a number of Kubernetes ecosystem OSS contributors who can’t attend with their company should be invited to #KubeCon (and other conferences).

I'm not speaking about me as I am not a maintainer.

autoStash = true

This has changed my life, how did I not know it was an option?! I've spent a silly amount of time over the years bouncing off rebase attempts, stashing, then trying to rebase again & having to remember to pop the stash afterwards, but no more!

Arg... Developers with big salaries at large companies complaining that the OSS they use doesn’t meet their daily needs without offering any help but still having plenty of energy to complain.
I spend 5–10 hours/week on OSS for about $20 a month. I’m sure you can make requests with that in mind 😒

I am very tired about this week. Too many context switching, traveling, pressure, late OSS... Time for a break this weekend with kids 😅

The more I think about this, the more I wonder if the best way forward is to transfer rubygems/bundler ownership to the Ruby org.

Then keep responsibility of rubygems.org.
