6/ Europe, in my view, should remain strong and become more assertive toward its adversaries. We have returned to a world where power is defined solely by those holding the biggest clubs. And if you don’t have big enough club - you will be someone’s breakfast

3/ Predictably, other actors such as China and Russia now feel far more confident in their broader geostrategic positions, whether in Russia’s ability to reshape Europe’s security landscape or China’s growing dominance in the Pacific and occupation of Taiwan

2/ The processes we are witnessing, including the dismantling of the post-Cold War system, are unlikely to be reversible anytime soon, and a change in U.S. leadership in the coming years can’t not undo the damage that began during the DJT administration.

For the hard of understanding.

There is *no* means by which a third country can "join" the EU CU or SM.

Only full EU/EEA membership gives full CU & SM access.

We are not going to rejoin any time soon, even if we applied to join today.

Can we please, please start being honest about these things?

It's so dispiriting to pour everything into writing a book, get lots of positive reviews... And then no one reads it.

Honest question: is it possible to create a sustainable indie author career that is also creatively fulfilling?

I used to think so - 3 years & 6 books later, I'm just not sure.

🧵 It’s important to remember, no matter how bad things are, they too will pass. Whilst art will continue to make you happy, other things will end up buried in the golfcourse of history.

For the people whining about me bitching about Pritzker doing anything except actually doing SOMETHING...here is an example of a government ACTUALLY doing something to protect its people.

Pritzker could order the Illinois State Police to do this, but he won't, because he just talks.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara issued a stern warning to his officers on Thursday: Intervene when you see Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents using unlawful force or lose your job.

What does he mean he “approved”? American carmakers have NEVER been prevented from making small cars. They just didn’t want to. Big ones are more profitable here.

I have two publications in 2025. One is a novel, but it's a sequel, and as grateful as I am for the attention Benny is still getting, it means hardly anybody has noticed that I do have a second book out. The other is a short story that is available . . . in two weeks.

Having worked for the USPS:
1.) I don't even believe that's the real number. Republicans love artificially inflating the USPS's expenses.
2.) Oh no. It costs $30 per person to have a functioning postal service. Almost like some sort of service provided socially.

I hate American business logic.

We can do away with it without a new Supreme Court. Nor do we need a constitutional amendment. There’s a far simpler way.

Gamers have such incredibly unreasonable demands of indies it's sort of a wonder anything gets made at all.

I could never fault an indie dev for just wanting to withdraw entirely from public from what are deeply wild, unfair or aggressive demands on their passion projects from 'gamers'.
