Good evening. We estimate that between 4.2 and 7.6 million people turned out for the No Kings Day demonstrations held around the country on Saturday. This makes Oct 18 very likely the biggest single-day U.S. protest event since 1970. www.gelliottmorris.com/p/second-no-...

“South Park,” Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have all been critical of their own company and President Trump this week.

My NSF PRFB on the genetics of female polymorphism in hummingbirds was terminated yesterday.

I don't have much to say, I'm just sad. We've discovered so much, and could have gone so much further.

If anyone else is in the same boat, esp postdocs, please reach out, it would be good to connect.

Trump claimed the Biden administration spent $8 million "making mice transgender." The White House tried to back up this number with records of funding for research into cancer, asthma, and HIV, some of which used *transgenic* (genetically modified) mice.

Trump dismantled a first-of-its-kind nature report. Colorado scientists are still hopeful it will be released
The National Nature Assessment was meant to document how the country’s lands, waters and wildlife benefit Americans, and how climate change might change that picture.

Ukraine: wake up Americans. Trump is giving away the Allied victory in World War II. It's a form treason by a combination of venal self-interest and criminal ignorance. This president must first be denounced and then stopped by all who actually have a sense of history.
