Or we could just build more houses to increase affordability instead of enslaving us to debt.
Trump and his cronies are now pushing 50-year mortgages.

Buckle up. This is going to make the 2008 mortgage crisis look like the good old days.

Pour one out for the goat! 🐐 Congress won’t be the same without her.
Today, Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi announced that she will not seek reelection and is retiring at the end of her term.

From her time working with Harvey Milk in San Francisco to her tenure as the first female Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi is the definition of a champion for equality.

This will put trans lives at risk and is just cruel.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court will allow the Trump administration to enforce its anti-trans and anti-nonbinary passport policy during litigation.

The unsigned, four-paragraph order effectively reverses two lower-court decisions. The Democratic appointees dissent.

If you put YIMBY policies on the ballot, they win. YIMBY is the silent majority. Congrats NYC!
NEW: ALL FOUR PRO-HOUSING BALLOT QUESTIONS PASS!!!

For the first time, New Yorkers had the chance to choose more housing at the ballot box—and they chose it overwhelmingly. This is a historic victory for housing that will help make NYC more affordable. 🧵

Huge wins for clean energy in Virginia and New Jersey tonight. The Trumpists attacked on electrical costs - and got clobbered. People didn’t like Trump’s braindead effort to take away clean, affordable energy. This ends any talk of retreat on clean energy.

You love to see it!
And, as an added bonus, @statenavigate.org is now projecting Dems with 62 seats (out of 100) in the VA House of Delegates (even more amazing when you consider that Dems had only 34 seats heading in to the 2017 elections). Wow, what a night! bluevirginia.us/2025/11/live...

LG | 🔵Hashmi +7
AG | 🔵Jones +1
NJ-GOV | 🔵Sherrill +6
NY-Mayor | Mamdani 56%

Crazy how much some media has normalized the idea that voters are taking a risk if they elect governors/mayors who will defy Trump. That he’ll threaten their funding, etc.

Try to imagine, say. Greg Abbott being asked if he’s worried that Biden will punish Texas over his lawsuits.
November 3, 2025 at 11:54 AM
A complete perversion of our republic just like cancelling grants to blue states only.
Remember when Obama cancelled funds for NJ after Christie won governorship in 2009? Or when Biden cancelled funds for VA after Youngkin won in 2021?

You can’t remember that, because those things never happened.

What Trump threatens—cancelling funds because of election results—is unprecedented.

The fact that most the mainstream media doesn’t even cover this blatant disregard for democracy is tragic.
Trump has threatened to withhold federal funding and deploy troops if Mamdani is elected mayor of New York City.

Mind blowing you can just destroy and rebuild the most historic and iconic building in America without any permits or approvals. Everything else you have to wait years for permits and there is a thousand ways other citizens can stop you.
Demolition crews have begun tearing down part of the White House to build President Trump’s long-desired ballroom — despite his pledge that construction of the $250 million addition wouldn’t “interfere” with the existing building. https://wapo.st/4hl7jyF

Blue states really just need to start withholding their federal taxes if the government only sends money to red states.
This is just the latest instance in which the Trump admin has used the shutdown to pause or strip money from Democratic-led cities and states. Before today, we counted about $28 billion in halted federal funds (and will be updating as we learn more)

Trump Targets Democratic Districts by Halting Billions During Shutdown
The Trump administration has frozen or canceled nearly $28 billion primarily located in Democratic-led districts, according to an analysis by The New York Times.

Again, this is a liquidation of the union in all but letter of the law. This is reverse secessionism engineered by a central government.
NEW: White House announces it's going to pause, and potentially cancel, $11 billion in infrastructure funding (via the Army Corps of Engineers), specifically citing cities, like New York, represented or led by Democrats. More to come.

It is very exciting to see NJ Transit getting into the game of transit-agency-led development.

The agency controls 8000 acres, and it expects it could create up to 20,000 residential units on these. www.njtransit.com/press-releas...
NJ Transit's "LAND" plan (Leverage Assets for Non-farebox Dollars) envisions up to 2,000 new homes on acres owned by the agency adjacent to Secaucus Junction station. This example is raised as one possible 'collaborative opportunity'. Full report here: content.njtransit.com/sites/defaul...
