Nina is so absolutely perfect. I'm going to be so sad about every one of her covers that doesn't make the list.
Also, a few days from now, when they play The Band's version, and I'm sobbing hysterically, someone please console me.

BNL was so good at silliness and shenanigans that it's to forget how good they could also be at sweetness and beauty.
What a lovely cover at 667

Ah, the weekend, a time to sit back, relax, and scream expletives at how cool Day 3 of the Countdown is.
Excited to hear what devil music comes in at 666

If youve never heard Adam Weiner of Low Cut Connie's interview with Marilyn McCoo about how 5th Dimension ended up covering Age of Aquarius, youre missing out on an INCREDIBLE story

Most wonderful time of the year!

How appropriate to have so many covers by The Dead and Jerry today since today is the 60th anniversary of their first gig using the name Grateful Dead at Ken Kesey's second Acid Test in San Jose (they'd been the Warlocks for seven months before that but had to change their name)

I feel like at least once before this countdown is done, there's going to be a mistake where we incorrectly assign credit for the original.
Hasn't happened yet, but my ears did perk up when Lead Belly didn't get credit for "Black Betty" this morning.
This is too much fun!!

Merry Clayton's cover of Gimme Shelter not in the top 100?!!!
We used to be a real civilzation

Day 1 really feels like "that was Frank Sinatra's cover of 'The 10 Crack Commandments' by the Notorious B.I.G. Up next is Lil Yachty and Joey Ramone's duet on 'Islands in the Stream.'"

The unbelievable whiplash of Weird Al covering "Bohemian Rhapsody" to Sinead's sultry cover of "You Do Something to Me"
I may never recover!

I just realized I should share my XPN Covers bingo card in case anyone else wants to play along (I've already crossed a couple off!)
