The Kırkçeşme aqueduct system, which brought water from the Belgrade Forest north of Ottoman Konstantiniyye (modern Istanbul), was built by the architect Sinan between 1554 and 1563. It likely corresponds to the aqueduct system built by Hadrian (117-138) to supply Byzantium...

Macellum of Durrës (historic Dyrrachium) was a circular market probably built by Anastasios I (491-518), who was born there. The podium at its center likely had a statue of Anastasios I. Solidus [gold coin] of Anastasios I from Dumbarton Oaks added to the final image.

Hagia Sophia in Bizye (modern Vize/Kırklareli) in Eastern Thrace was probably the city’s cathedral. It seems to have been the burial site of St. Mary the Younger, whose life is described in her Vita (saintly biography).

ハギア・ソフィア大聖堂(アヤソフィア)、何度訪れても素晴らしい。ほんとうに圧倒されるスケール、そして積み重ねてきた歴史の途方もない厚みと重みが、足元の大理石から、世界各地から集められた柱から、きらめくモザイクから、窓から差し込む光から、こちらに話しかけてくるような感動が有ります
