yes yes yes to all of this. material politics is the way forward and that doesn’t mean slogans it means the very difficult work of being a real presence in the lives of the people who you want to trust you.
It doesn’t matter what I think. Also, none of this would ever happen. But if I had a zillion dollars:

1. Run a “we do hard things” campaign across southern and rust belt states. Invest heavily in local, state and regional social infrastructure. Sponser later hours at a library, build a skate park…
If I were to sum up my advice to the Democratic party leadership about how to defeat Trumpism, it would be to set aside policy for now and focus instead on articulating a vision of what American society should look like and what role the US should play in a rapidly changing world today.

The Lego Gameboy set is *chefkiss*. The lenticular slides are a nice touch, and finished product has a pretty impressive tactile experience.

Trickle-down economics was always a sham.

Nothing has ever trickled down.

I keep hearing from people who say they bought my book on Amazon but received something with empty pages or with what appears to be filled with AI crap.

I don’t want you to be defrauded, so please read this for more info. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/because-amazon-wont-police-its-offerings
Because Amazon won’t police its offerings, you’re getting shafted (and so am I)

Billionaire Trump donor Elon Musk owns X.

Billionaire Trump ally Jeff Bezos owns The Washington Post.

With this acquisition, both CNN and CBS News would be owned by billionaire Trump donor Larry Ellison.

Oligarchs’ monopoly over our media is spiraling out of control.

The 100 lowest-paying US corporations spent $644B on stock buybacks from 2019 to 2024.

Buybacks artificially boost share prices and inflate CEO pay.

The typical worker at these companies earned $35k last year.

Meanwhile, the average CEO was paid $17.2M

See the problem?

More women have nearly bled to death during miscarriage under Texas’ abortion ban.

Experts say the trend paints a troubling picture of the harms of unnecessary delays in care. “This is striking,” one doctor said. “The trend is very clear.”

A new ProPublica data analysis adds to the mounting evidence that abortion bans have made the common experience of first-trimester miscarriage far more dangerous.

Cost of Trump's D.C. Occupation: $1.1M per day.

Cost to operate public housing for D.C.'s entire homeless population: $169,226 per day.

It's not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

“Duolingo for chores.” So you’ll get me doing chores for about a month, then I’ll get derailed by life/work stuff, ignore notifications with a mix of guilt and frustration for 3 months, and then delete the app?

Facts. So far, best adaptation since the ‘85.
If you are not watching the new anime "Anne Shirley" on Crunchyroll, boy you are missing out. It is such a great adaptation.

Why are interviewers still asking left-leaning comedians if people like Trump are good for them (the idea being that it’s endless material)?
