✦ Blinx the Time Sweeper and Klonoa redesigned! The Blinx one is kind of a reinterpretation of his original attire and fuses elements from his Blinx 2 design, while Klonoa's redesign is simply an amalgamation of many of his prior designs + a few Veil-isms here & there.

Blinx the Time Sweeper and Klonoa, redesigned by me! They belong to a series of redesigns that initially began as a Sonic-only project, but kinda just kept spiraling until I redesigned other video-game platformer mascots. Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot and Star Fox are among some others that I plan to redesign, as well. If that sounds interesting, do let me know! Oh, right, I guess I'll go over some design choices I felt were neat. Blinx's head has a tuft of hair known as an ahoge on it, which originally isn't there. I figured it would be a cute nod to his concept art phase, where he was depicted as an interpretation of Puss in Boots. Puss famously wears a hat with a plume feather on it, so this is my way of acknowledging that part of his development. The sweater fabrics have been made cat bells because I thought they were cute, and the Sweeper is entirely original. It combines the general shape language of the first Blinx game, while using the general color scheme of the second. I also added buttons and nozzles to make the Sweeper feel more functionally realistic. Klonoa's design is mostly based on his appearances from the Wii Remake of "Door to Phantomile," the brief web comic "Dream Travelers of Noctis Sol" and the GBA game "Dream Champ Tournament." I love the eyes of the DCT Klonoa, so I went with those and made them a little more feline with thin, slit pupils, much like his original debut appearance from "Door to Phantomile" back on the OG PlayStation. His ears have red ribbons tied around them, harkening to a quite obscure concept art for Klonoa back when he was being drastically redesigned for the sequels. His pants similarly have belt straps tapering off on either side like wallet chains, again harkening to a relatively obscure concept design. The paperboy-esque hat is mostly based on the canceled movie design. The shelltoes are there because I like shelltoes. BAHAHA
