I just keep thinking “Elon Musk just got a trillion dollars”
New — While some states have received SNAP benefits for November and USDA is supposedly pushing through all federal payments soon, that doesn’t erase the psychological terror of the last few weeks.

I spoke with 20+ SNAP recipients in 16 states about preparing for a possible future with no food:
The voices of SNAP
Recipients have become political pawns. They explained, in their own words, what Trump withholding funds has been like.

As many have pointed out, Mamdani didn't stand apart from our trans brothers and sisters. He didn't play the "Gee, gosh, it sure is complicated," milquetoast moderate card. And he crushed.

The way forward is together, not over the bodies of our own.

as someone who was on SNAP four times let me tell you it would be *phenomenally hard* to exploit, they put *a lot of effort* into giving you *as little as possible* and are horrendously understaffed

if someone has managed to abuse the system they are Danny Ocean and you should respect the hustle

Amazon had county officials near Tucson, Arizona sign an NDA in 2023 that would’ve lasted until ”Project Blue” was permitted and built. Locals only found out that “Project Blue” would a hyperscale data center in June. County officials only confirmed Amazon’s involved last week.
I am once again asking why these data centers are all fucking SECRETS

"A controversial plan to build a 2.2-million-square-foot data center on farmland may still happen. A rural community... is looking to settle a lawsuit recently filed by a development firm working for an unidentified tech giant."

There is no world in which it is normal for the president to publicly call upon his attorney general to hurry up and prosecute his political foes. It’s like the Watergate tapes but posted on social media. Let’s get a grip on what’s happening here.

No, we do not. We have to actually stand for something. And communicate it effectively. Then go out and persuade non-voters to vote and to vote for the things we stand for.

had to read the article to understand wtf was going on here which is that Meta is literally feeding Instagram pictures parents took of their teenage daughters to middle aged men as ads for Threads
“Meta has used back-to-school pictures of schoolgirls to advertise one of its social media platforms to a 37-year-old man, in a move parents described as “outrageous” and “upsetting.”

Meta has 100% stopped even *pretending* not to be astoundingly evil.

This is an important time to remember that responsibility is not a zero-sum game — recognizing one person’s fault does not necessarily diminish another person’s.

The Trump administration is fascist. And ABC cynically caved and abandoned American values for money. Both are worthy of your contempt.

We are building a movement. Brett Smiley is panicking.

His record:

• Creating an affordability crisis
• Illegally underfunding our schools

Our neighbors are tired of politicians who say they know best but don’t listen to our needs. We deserve a Mayor who cares about us.
