Not sure how they "came late to the party". Seems to me like they came exactly when the industry needed them, and signed the best talents that were available, and put them on television. - Just because a lot of these were great indy talents doesn't mean AEW is "behind on the times" or something.

TNA took a deal for peanuts because it was all they were going to get...and TK is holding out for better, because he knows he has a quality product.

Funny thing is, the TNA deal is likely one that TK already turned down for RoH. - According to him, there have been several offers for RoH, but none of them have felt respectful to the brand or the level of talent there.

I think at a certain point, they will be surpassed as "the" wrestling company, and will continue to exist as just a generic form of entertainment that draws "okay" numbers. - And they will have a reputation for basically shooting themselves in the foot.

I feel like I'm tripping whenever I see people talk about Ashnikko...because, I feel like she was totally a different person at one point. - I can go back and look at photos, and be like "that's the one I remember...and this one is different" Lol

I don't think TK would ever want a monopoly...but, shutting down WWE to keep them from doing any more damage seems justifiable to me. - Kinda doubt it happens anyway. But, I wouldn't consider it the same.

Everything to them is about "How does AEW convert these WWE fans, or draw them in?" - Which is why they have so many comically bad opinions on what AEW should be doing.

There is a large amount of oldhead wrestling historian types who think the only wrestling audience is the audience that WWE already has. - They still don't realize that AEW is making its own audience with people who never liked or cared about WWE.

And we saw this from the beginning when they thought that owning both UFC and WWE meant something. - Those are not the same industry/sport...but, these are corporate execs who do not actually understand these things. They bought WWE because in their mind it was competition with UFC. (Obviously not).

TKO doesn't care about pro wrestling as a whole...or even the history of WWE. They thought they would have control of an entire market, and they are learning that they don't. Not only does WWE not represent an entire market...but, they are losing ground now.

I said from the very beginning that WWE getting into bed with TKO would be the end of them. - As soon as you have that corporate "squeeze profits from everything" mentality, it's over. - These are the first major cracks forming. - A few years until TKO sells off WWE and cuts their losses. IMO.
Triple H is under fire (per Meltzer) from TKO execs for the dreadful WrestleMania ticket sales. But he has an idea: El Grande Americano vs El Grande Americano at WrestleMania. No, I'm not making that up. Wrestlevotes (WWE pr) said it's being viewed as a big money match.
