mycorrhizal ecology, microbiome science, natural climate solutions and carbon removal!
Really excited to host Dr. Susan Cook-Patton tomorrow. Susan is one of the top scientific voices on natural climate solutions, continuously pushing new analyses that help us understand the potential of natural climate solutions, as well as their limitations.

This webinar is free and open to all!
💥 TOMORROW, August 7th @ 10am Central Time, the Nature Conservancy’s Lead Reforestation Scientist, Dr. Susan Cook-Patton, will be presenting her research to Team Funga and the broader Funga-verse. This is a virtual event, open to all. To RSVP, click the link below.

Who lives underground?

Find out now in our new paper published in @nature.com.

Key finding: 90% of predicted mycorrhizal biodiversity hotspots lie outside protected areas.

Super cool talk by @colinaverill.bsky.social on the effect (and manipulation) of soil microbiome (mycobiome) on growth of forests.

Y'all if you read a great scientific paper or see a great talk, consider writing the author and tell them you think it's awesome. It's really easy, it builds relationships, and you probably make their day.

Measuring enhanced rock weathering is hard, but essential for quantify its CDR potential. Best practice is to measure soil pore water alkalinity with lysimeters - and this is very hard.

New work by Gregory Jones and Bonnie Waring finds a much simpler way! www.researchsquare.com/article/rs-6...
Utilizing soil centrifugation for accurate estimates of carbon dioxide removal via enhanced rock weathering
Enhanced rock weathering (ERW) is a promising CO2 removal (CDR) strategy that aims to accelerate the natural process of silicate weathering to increase soil pore water alkalinity and sequester CO2. Ho...
