📣THREAD: It’s surprising to me that so many people were surprised to learn that Signal runs partly on AWS (something we can do because we use encryption to make sure no one but you–not AWS, not Signal, not anyone–can access your comms).

Reminds me "Adam Ruins Everything" where it is hilarious and true until he does an episode on something you are an expert in and then... you kind of question it all.
I'm a huge fan of @brihreed.bsky.social and his Question Everything podcast. I was intrigued when he announced his latest season would be an exploration of Section 230 and why he feels it should be repealed. I obviously disagree, but I try to keep an open mind. But the 1st episode is a disaster.
