Kernow showed up in force for river access last weekend. Twenty people gathered near Bodmin to trespass a stretch of the River Camel, while another seven walked the full 20 miles of the Camel Trail to highlight the inadequacy of the government’s proposed nine river walks.

Brilliant article by Brighton Green Meg De Meo💚

Labour's betrayal on workers' rights only serves to further precarious employment and workplace harassment.

Meg also notes that empowering workers means a stronger economy and a safer workplace 💪📈

Workers Deserve Dignity
Labour’s Employment Rights Bill promised to enhance much-needed workers’ rights in the UK, but the legislation has become a shadow of itself. Now unions must lead the fight to get it back on track.

Today marks 25 years of offshore wind power: an initiative that reduced the UK’s spending on imported fuels by up to £30bn.

Without wind power the country would’ve imported & burned over 20 million tonnes of gas over the last 25 years.

Wind works 🌬️ For the climate and the economy.

2/ Dozens of local residents made a last ditch attempt to stop this brutal act of ecological vandalism.

After pointing out that the felling was unlawful, a protester was manhandled by police & had her head bounced off the pavement by them (she is badly bruised & lucky not be more badly injured).

Between the secretive backroom settlement, and the rejection of local residents, Cornwall Council has not acted properly.

There must be an inquiry to why Cornwall Council felt justified in felling trees on Trelawney Road and what money was involved.

Disgraced Starmer loyalist Vaughan Gething, and the former tory donor and Icelands' boss Richard Walker are just 2 of the 25 allies Starmer is rewarding with Lordships.

It's clearer than ever the House of Lords is little more than a dumping ground for establishment allies and aristocrats.

The government has admitted Cornwall needs devolution in its own right, and is persuing devolution plans accordingly.

The Cornwall Green Party welcomes this development, and keeps an eye to the deal being drawn up to ensure Cornwall gets the fullest devolution arrangement possible for one and all.

From Cllr Pauline Giles' racism, to these three cllrs' hostile rhetoric against trans people, it seems some in Lys Kernow are more obsessed with hate then representing our communities.

Local politics has to for building stronger communities and empowering people, not about knocking people down.
A number of moments came from Cornwall Council’s last meeting. One of which was the repetition of a transphobic question by Cllr Dulcie Tudor. But she isn’t the only one in local politics who has made transphobia a significant part of her political campaigning:

This budget doesn’t scratch the surface for millions facing the cost of living crisis 🏚️

We could’ve had a budget that finally puts ordinary people first. Instead, we’re given another billionaire’s budget. 📉
