I will bet that if congressmen & senators along with their staffs did not get paid during a shutdown, they would not have left town and would be working to find a solution to this shutdown. I wonder why they put that stipulation in the rules to begin with?

Can anyone tell me what these Billionaires and millionaires will do with the tax payback they are going to receive when the BBB is passed? If they didn't receive the payback, they would not notice that they didn't receive it.

Did I miss something? Does the US have a Federal Secret Police Force? I know that SWAT police officers have their faces covered. But why are these so-called law enforcement officers have their faces covered? Are they ashamed of what they are doing? They don’t want their friends to know?

I just viewed my recorded copy of the Rachel Maddow show. I want to say that I am going to miss seeing you every weekday. I wish that you would do a 2 hour show on Monday nights. You could start in Jen Psaki's slot on Monday then continue to the Last Word. I think it would be great. See ya Monday.

The Social Security Trust Fund would be flush with $$ if any of the presidential administrations had paid back the Paper IOUs that many presidents on both sides had placed in the SST Fund after they took $$ from it. Shame on these presidents for not following thru with their promise to pay it back.

I thought that not all of the Billionaires would be scared of Trump but I guess I was wrong. I have not heard one peep from anyone who is a billionaire. I thought highly of Bill Gates and Warren Buffett yet not one peep. I guess they value their upcoming Tax Break more than America. WE made u rich!

I don't know if it has been mentioned that the one problem with Musk's computer experts is that they are trying to work with systems that were built before they were born. They can't spell the language that these systems were built with let alone following the logic.

If both Reps & Dems had repaid the paper IOUs in the SS Trust Fund, we wouldn't have the problem that we have now. However, if they had repaid the IOUs, then Musk/Trump would be going after that big pile of money in the SS Trust Fund.

If you continue with the disabling of birthright citizenship to its ultimate conclusion, unless restricted by date, the only people left in the country will be those individuals that immigrated and obtained citizenship to the U.S. Think about it. Our parents would not be citizens. 1 of 2 posts

I believe that the Marshals who escorted DOGE members into the US African Aid Agency were actually members of Elon's security that were deputized by the US Marshal Service, who now have authority to carry weapons into sensitive areas. Not that they carry badges but they can say they are US Marshals.

Can anyone explain why we don't hear anything from our former presidents? I know they don't want to criticize a person who holds their former job, but what about our democracy? We can't wait until the FEC is taken over. If that happens, our democracy is over. Dems will never win another election.

Before any cuts to Medicaid Medicare & Soc Sec, I wish the Billionaires were forced to live with just SS & Medicare without access to any of their wealth for one month. They should live in appropriate housing for their new income level. They would experience how hard it is to live on SS & Medicare.
